Hiring is top of the agenda for female entrepreneurs in 2015

New research on behalf of the Business is GREAT Britain campaign has highlighted that the top goal of UK business women for 2015 is to hire more employees – and with nearly a million women-led SMEs in the country this could lead to almost 140,000 new jobs being created next year.

Over 1,000 female business owners and leaders were surveyed to find out what their key business goals for 2015 are, with hiring (14%) staff coming out top. Alongside this, female entrepreneurs from all sectors are being encouraged to share their business goals publically using the hashtag #MyGREATgoal, as research shows that you are 42% more likely to achieve a goal just by writing it down.

The activity, part of the current Business is GREAT Britain campaign, is focusing on highlighting successful female-led SMEs, and directing women who are interested in starting or developing their business to a new digital hub which houses advice and information on everything from finance to flexible working.

The story is being backed by a variety of female entrepreneurs in the UK, who have all shared their business goals for the coming year.

Amelia Rope, owner of Amelia Rope Chocolates:
“My main goals for 2015 are to continue to expand globally, add to my product range and take on an assistant.”

Anne Wilson, Managing Director of Numill:
“I have a big push planned for 2015 to grow the business and strengthen our market position globally. It has been vital to train our own talent in our industry, and this continues to be a big focus for us in 2015.”

Emma Mills, owner of Mi PA:
“My ambition for the business in 2015 is to double turnover and train our team to be customer service experts”
