Enterprising Learner - Alicia Nang

The winner of the Enterprising Learner award was Alicia Nang. Alicia is a university graduate who took a degree in interior design, however following University she found it difficult to get work so she decided to use her existing hairdressing skills to set up a business specialising in African and Caribbean hair styling. Alicia completed courses in Creating and Starting a Business and Social Media at The Sheffield College and has since made a real success of her business. She said: "I am absolutely over the moon at winning this award. It means a lot to me, especially to receive it from a leading light in my industry Toni Mascolo. The college has helped me a lot by getting me think about how to use the skills I have, and all the practical steps you need to take to start your own business. It's really helped turn my prospects around."
